Abstract

One of the most well-known Western figures of the 1930s was the orientalist Dwight Donaldson (1884–1976), who travelled to Ahl al-Bayt to visit the Shiites and their imams' shrines in an attempt to paint a clear picture of their history. Nevertheless, it is an early virtue noted for the Westerner who attempted to write as much as possible about the exploratory excursions to Iraq from trustworthy sources like Al-Majlisi, Al-Kafi, and others.

The study explores Imam Al-Jawad's biography and his relationship with Al-Abbasin, focusing on the Abbasid caliphate, Al-Mamoun's relationship, and Donaldson's biography. It explores the historical context of Baghdad and the Imam's shrine, as well as authentic narrations and events from Shiite books. The study provides a comprehensive understanding of Imam Al-Jawad's life and legacy.
